Ford has recalled 570,000 vehicles across North America and Europe for two dangerous issues. If you’re not a Ford owner, chances are you know someone who is. Taking a minute to check out the recall list could help save you, a family member or a friend from recall issues.
The first and most dangerous problem is one that causes the engines of cars to catch fire in several different models of Ford cars. The second problem is an issue with door latches. They aren’t closing properly, which is causing doors to fly open when the car is in use, or stay closed while people are trying to get out of the car.
The issue with the door latch isn’t new. Door latch recalls cost Ford $640 million last year. Issues with the engine have been reported at least 29 times across Canada and the United States. No injuries have been reported yet, but the company is urging drivers to check their vehicle models for recalls.
If your car is affected by the recall, local Ford dealers will install coolant level sensors in your car to warn you of any overheating. If you own a Ford, make sure you take a look at the recall list to check for your vehicle.
