One Friday night, Lisa Zimmerman from North Dakota was doing some shopping at a local Walmart with her son. As she prepared to wipe down the handle, something caught her son’s eye.
“He said, ‘Mom, there’s something metal poking out of the handle,'” Lisa recounted in an interview with the Bismarck Tribune.
Upon further inspection, the pair discovered something chilling:
Someone had planted a long razor blade in the shopping cart handle. Had her son not noticed it, Lisa likely would have sliced her hand open.

Lisa alerted the Walmart managers, who quickly launched an investigation.
“They handled it well. They were just as upset about it as I was,” said Lisa.
Not Just An Isolated Incident
A similar incident happened at a Walmart in Marysville. When victim Julie Nicolas reported the razor blade to the store manager, she was informed that this ‘prank’ is becoming commonplace.
Indeed, it’s even been reported in Canada.
Razor blades are incredibly sharp and dangerous. They can easily cut through flesh, opening victims up to potentially severe infections.
